Genesis Energy, the Wellington and Sydney dual-listed electricity generation company, is set to shut down its last two coal-burning generators by December 2018, due to more economical supplies of cheap renewable energy and a lowered demand.
State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC has begun preliminary construction work on a new 2000 km, 800 kV ultra-high voltage (UHV) direct current (DC) transmission project. This is the first UHV transmission project that the SGCC has won overseas, marking a milestone in Chinese efforts to develop its UHV technologies overseas.
