This news follows the reactivation of Chilean energy exports to Argentina, after several years of dormancy, according to the operator of Chile’s Northern Grid (SING). The Chilean Energy Minister Maximo Pacheco said: “The north of Chile is mining, fishing, and now the export of solar energy.”
This is because the majority of the country’s solar development has so far occurred in the north of the country, where both solar insolation and industrial electricity usage are at their highest levels.
