The wind farm is itself run by Norther N.V., a joint venture between Belgium’s Elicio and the Netherland’s Eneco. When completed the wind farm, situated around 22 km off the coast of Zeebrugge, will have a capacity of 370 MW produced by 46 MHI Vestas’ V164-8.0 MW turbines. According to MHI Vestas estimates, this will meet the power needs of 370 000 households.
In statement, MHI Vestas said: "When commissioned in 2019 the Norther project will be Belgium's largest wind power plant."
