Chile’s state-owned Empresa Nacional del Petroleo (Enap) and Enel Green energy have begun construction of a 48 MW geothermal plant in Ollague, Antofagasta, Chile.
The Tees Renewable Energy Plant (Tees REP), MGT Power’s proposed 299 MW biomass plant located in Redcar North Yorkshire, is to go ahead following the announcement that it has secured funding from Australian investment bank, Macquarie Group.

A report published by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has said that the number of UK businesses that generate their own electricity is set to increase by 130 per cent by 2030.
