Construction at Taishan began in November 2009. The EPR is also under construction at Olkiluoto 3 in Finland (construction started August 2005), and at Flamanville 3 in France (construction started December 2007). In addition, the go-ahead for construction of two EPRs at Hinkley Point C in the UK has been given, and in March 2018, EDF signed an agreement with Nuclear Power Corporation of India for a six-unit 9.9 GW project using EPR technology.
