Voltalia has been awarded an EPC contract by Ørsted for its first solar power plant in Ireland, located in County Carlow. The 128 MW project is Ørsted’s first involvement in the Irish solar sector, having previously focused on the wind power sector.

The Irish solar energy market is experiencing a significant acceleration. Among recent projects, Voltalia is working with ESB and Bord na Móna on the 108 MW Timahoe North power plant, and with Power Capital Renewable on four photovoltaic projects totalling 230 MW.
