Vinh Long possesses significant potential for coastal and offshore wind power, with a sea area of approximately 15 000 sq km. The sea area between Duyen Hai to Ba Tri wards has been assessed as having an average wind speed of 7-8 m/s, suitable for large wind turbines.

Currently, about 45 onshore, coastal, and offshore renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 3855 MW have been planned in the province.
