Vibrant Energy wins funding for wind-solar hybrid projects in India

Vibrant Energy , an Indian renewable energy developer, has won funding of $268 million from Power Finance Corporation . This is one of the largest project financing deals in India’s renewables sector this year.

Vibrant Energy will construct two wind-solar hybrid projects with a total combined capacity of 300 MW. These two projects will be located in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.

Amazon entered into a PPA with Vibrant Energy for the two projects. This is one of the largest wind-solar hybrid corporate PPAs, with the two projects expected to generate 1.163 TWh annually when completed.

Srinivasan Viswanathan, CEO of Vibrant Energy, said: “We are excited to partner with Power Finance Corporation in building on of India’s biggest corporate renewable energy projects. This partnership will bring us closer to achieving India’s vision of realizing 500 GW by 2030.
