Guyana’s Department of Public Information (DPI) said that final preparations are underway to connect the vessel. Berbice Ravindra Jagnandan, Zone Manager of GPL, said that some work had been delayed due to bad weather. They said: “Once the ship is docked, we have to connect the ship to our 69 kV network. When that is finished, we have some more maintenance work to do on our transmission lines and then we can inject power into the grid from the ship.”

The power system is scheduled to be fully connected by May 8, and it is expected to operate at 96 per cent availability.
