Thailand’s TTCL to partner in Myanmar LNG power project

TCL Public Co of Thailand has signed a PPA with Electric Power Generation Enterprise (EPGE), a state-owned enterprise under the Myanmar Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE), for an LNG-to-power project in the Yangon region of Myanmar.

The agreement was signed by TTCL Power Myanmar Co (TPMC), a subsidiary of Bangkok-based TTCL, which is itself a joint venture between Toyo Engineering Corporation of Japan and Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited . TPMC will develop the 388 MW Ahlone LNG-to-power project in Ahlone township, Yangon region.

The EPC works comprise the power plant, a 28 km transmission line, a 25 km gas pipeline, and an LNG receiving terminal. The scope of the project also includes procurement, transport, storage, and regasification of imported LNG.
