SolarCity and Tesla have announced that they have rolled out a solar power and battery storage enabled microgrid on the island of Ta’u in American Samoa. It has 1.4 MW of solar generation capacity, and 6 MWh of battery storage from 60 Tesla Powerpacks, and the facility was implemented within one year.
