GE Vernova supplied 7HA.03 combined cycle equipment for the plant. GE Vernova said that the conversion of these plants from coal to H-class gas turbines should reduce CO2 emissions by 60 per cent.

Hsinta power plant includes two further blocks, which are expected to start operation in phases through 2025 and 2026, bringing the combined power capacity of the plant up to nearly 4 GW.

Each block of the plant consists of two 7HA.03 gas turbines with H65 hydrogen-cooled generators, two HRSGs, one STF-D650 steam turbine with H65 hydrogen-cooled generator, along with ancillary equipment. The 7HA.03 gas turbine has the capability to burn 50 per cent by volume of hydrogen when blended with natural gas.
