Aurora Energy predicts that about 10 GW of solar, 6 GW of wind, and 2 GW of BESS will be commissioned in Mexico by 2030, reducing the country’s dependence on gas-fired power plants. Aurora Energy expects that 10 GW of new gas-fired power plants will enter service over the same period.

Aurora estimates that the capital expenditure for utility-scale solar plants in Mexico will fall by 26 per cent per kW. The decrease for onshore wind is expected to reach 30 per cent, and it forecasts BESS costs falling by 15 per cent per kW.
