Siemens has received an order from Belarus to supply equipment for a peak-load power plant. The order was placed by the state-run energy provider RUE Minskenergo. Siemens will supply six SGT-800 industrial gas turbines to increase the grid’s reliability and flexibility, and support the transition to a new energy mix in Belarus. The six gas turbines will be deployed in a new gas-fired power plant in Minsk. The plant will have a capacity of 300MW, and is designed for 700 operating hours and 350 cold starts per year. The full capacity would be available 15 minutes after a cold start.

Siemens’ complete scope of supply includes the six SGT-800 gas turbines, as well as associated generators of the control system PCS 7. It also includes the gas receiving station, as well as high-, medium-, and low-voltage equipment.
