Siemens strengthens footprint in additive manufacturing

Siemens has acquired an 85 per cent majority stake in Materials Solutions , a world leader in Additive Manufacturing (AM) processing and production. The remaining 15 per cent will be held by Carl Brancher, founder of Materials Solutions. The company is a pioneer in the use of Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technology for the manufacture of high-performance metal parts. In August 2015, Siemens Venture Capital acquired a 14 per cent minority stake in the company.
