The project site is located on two mountains west of the city of Tromsø in northern Norway. A total of 47 units will be installed on Kvitfjell, and another 20 units on Raudfjell. The units are rated at 4.2 MW, and will supply a combined capacity of 281.4 MW. A service and maintenance agreement was also signed.

Nordlicht is the largest onshore wind project in Europe this year, and is due to be commissioned in summer 2019. The turbines will be installed on steel towers at hub heights of 85 metres. All units will be equipped and optimised to support site-specific wind profiles and cold climate conditions, including de-icing technology and digital load control.
