SGRE was conditionally awarded the contract to deliver 880MW offshore wind turbines for the Sunrise Wind project, which will be the company’s largest offshore wind project in the US. Ørsted and Eversource were awarded this capacity by New York State. The project will use SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbines located about 50km of Montauk Point in New York. The Sunrise Wind project is scheduled to be operational in 2024.

The 704MW Revolution Wind offshore project will be located 24km off the coast of Rhode Island. The project will use SG 8.0-167 DD wind turbines and is expected to be online by 2023.

SGRE was conditionally awarded a contract to deliver SG 8.0-167 DD offshore wind turbines for the 130MW South Fork offshore wind power project. This will be located 56km off Long Island, NY, is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2022, and will deliver power to the Long Island Power Authority.

The SG 8.0-167 DD wind turbine has a rated capacity of 8.0MW, and a rotor with a 167m diameter. It has a swept area of 21,900m2, and uses SGRE B81 blades, each 81.4m long. By 2020, over 1000 SGRE Direct Drive offshore wind turbines will be installed globally.
