The Qatar Fund for Development said that the deliveries will increase the Qatari scheme’s generating capacity to 800 MW. The first phase of the Qatari development to fund gas supplies for power generation was launched in March and provided 400 MW via Jordan.

The new deliveries will be received at Aleppo power station from 2 August, and the electricity generated will be supplied to “various cities and neighbourhoods”, according to the Qatar Fund for Development.
