Power Grid Corporation of India (PowerGrid) has invited bids for a renewable energy infrastructure project involving the development of a 500 MW/1000 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Punjab, India.

The project will aim to strengthen the power grid and support the integration of renewable energy in the region. The project will be implemented through the Tariff-Based Global Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.

The sale of tender documents and submission of bids started on 6 March. The document sale period will remain open until 18 March, while the deadline for bid submission is scheduled for 20 March.
