Okinawa Coca-Cola launches large-scale solar powered factory

Okinawa Coca-Cola Bottling has begun operating a large-scale solar power generation system at its Urasoe plant in Okinawa, Japan.

The 305 kW solar power facility, known as Kariy Roof, was installed by Okinawa Electric Power and Okinawa New Energy Development. The system will supply around 10 per cent of the plant’s power needs.

Yoshihiko Koyama, President of Okinawa Coca-Cola Bottling, said that the company will continue efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and address environmental issues with support from its partner companies.
