Nigeria’s Egbin Power targets 1800 MW under phase 2 expansion plan

Egbin Power has stated its commitment to fast-track its planned investments into additional gas pipelines, the proposed Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) project, and 1800 MW of power generation capacity, along with the deployment of additional renewable energy sources to boost the plant’s productivity.

Kola Adesina, Chairman of Egbin Power, said that management was committed to lifting the capacity generation of the company in its expansion drive. He presented the company’s second sustainability report, with the theme “Securing our Future”, which highlighted efforts towards effective management of its assets, operations, and relationships to enhance transparency and build a sustainable future.

Adesina said: “We firmly believe that sound corporate governance and sustainability reporting can directly impact business growth. Egbin Power is working with other stakeholders to drive the adoption of a strategic direction that will reposition the sector for optimised performance.”
