Manila Electric Co (Meralco) of the Philippines has started a Competitive Selection Process (CSP) for 600 MW of baseload capacity following the issuance of a Certificate of Conformity by the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE).
Under the planned 15-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA), the winning bidder will provide 300 MW by February 2028, with an additional 300 MW to be supplied by February 2029, subject to approval by the Energy Regulatory Commission.
Meralco is inviting power generation companies to submit expressions of interest by 14 July. The pre-bid conference is scheduled for 28 July, while the deadline for bid submissions is 1 September.
Meralco said the procurement process will be technology neutral, allowing all power generation technologies that meet the technical and commercial requirements to participate.
