Emmanuel Rubio, Meralco PowerGen President and CEO, said he expects to sign an MOU with the Kepco International Nuclear Graduate School University where it will send fission scholars. Meralco’s trip to South Korea will include a nuclear study tour and distribution modernisation discussions.

Rubio said that he hoped that the Philippine government would move forward with a decision on whether or not it will resume nuclear energy development. He said: “I think there will be further discussions on the collaboration for how to really move forward with nuclear. I would like the government to develop the policies and the programme first, because regardless of how much we talk about nuclear, the government still must create the framework, the rules, the guidelines, and the timetable to make things clear.”
