LS Eco Energy , through its Vietnamese production subsidiary LS-VINA, has won a contract for €30 million of UHV cables for Vietnam Electricity (EVN)’s power grid construction project. This represents about 5 per cent of LS Eco Energy’s annual sales for 2024.
The project involves construction of a national power grid connecting substations in Hanoi’s city centre and suburbs to enable stable supply to the rapidly increasing demand in urban areas. Vietnam plans to expand its current power generation capacity from 69 GW to over 150 GW by 2030, as well as constructing 16 285 km of a new 220 kV transmission network.
