Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has announced a 20-year plan to increase electricity capacity by 57 GW through agreements reached with Siemens and GE , as well as the increased use of renewable energy.
The Iraqi Ministry of Energy said that Iraq also plans to increase its electricity capacity to 48 GW by 2028. It has signed deals with companies such as Siemens and Shanghai Electric to build new power plants and implement long-term maintenance plans.
