Hyosung Heavy Industries and Korea Southern Power have signed an MOU to establish a strategic alliance to develop their position in the hydrogen power generation sector.

The two companies will jointly promote hydrogen engine power generation projects, clean hydrogen production and utilisation demonstration projects.

Hyosung has been increasing its efforts in hydrogen engine development, resulting in the commercialisation of the world’s first hydrogen full-combustion engine in April 2024. The 1 MW hydrogen engine was installed at Hyosung Chemical’s Yongyeon Plant 2 in Ulsan, which has been in full operation since then.
