The Philippines Department of Energy (DOE) has said that Hydrogène de France (HDF) Energy Philippines will build commercial-scale hydrogen-integrated power plants in the country to provide stable renewable energy.
The proposed renewable power plants combine solar power, lithium-ion batteries, and hydrogen storage. The intention is for the facilities to deliver baseload power by integrating renewable sources with on-site green hydrogen storage. HDF Energy is also developing infrastructure for the mass production of green hydrogen.
The DOE said the projects reaffirm its commitment to lo-carbon alternative fuels and efficient energy technologies to bolster energy security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
