The upgrades enabled delivery of an increase in capacity of 85 MW to 850 MW. Unit efficiency was improved by 2.46 per cent. The upgrades also extend maintenance intervals. The modernisation project will lead to a reduction of approximately 67 500 tons equivalent of carbon emissions annually.

Joseph Anis, President and CEO of GE Vernova’s Gas Power business in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, said: “This project demonstrates our capability to deliver high-impact, efficient solutions that not only meet but exceed our clients’ expectations. GE Vernova GT26 gas turbines are able to operate on a variety of fuels, including blends of hydrogen and natural gas, to offer InterGen pathways to reduce carbon emissions in the future.”
