GE has announced that for TM2500 aeroderivative gas turbines have been ordered, delivered, installed, and commissioned in 42 days by the State of California’s Department of Water Resources (DWR), Kiewit Power Constructors , and GE. DWR said that it anticipates a power supply shortage as the recent wildfires and drought conditions have caused hydropower sources to run dry during peak demand season.

Eric Gray, CEO, Americas for GE Gas Power, said: “The State of California has made tremendous progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and is helping to lead US climate change action. We are proud to support the State of California and the Department of Water Resources while demonstrating the highly efficient and flexible nature of gas power to support renewable energy and ensure system reliability with a low environmental footprint.”
