The Meri-Pori plant was due to go into reserve from March 1, but this deadline has now been extended by one month. Fortum said that this decision has been agreed with the authorities.

Simon-Erik Ollus, Head of Corporate Customers and Markets at Fortum, said: “This winter, the electricity market has been exposed to strong volatility, and it is fortunate that our Meri-Pori power plant can continue still to support security of supply in March.”
