The facility includes India’s largest test rig to validate wind turbine gearboxes. Flender said that the wind industry is in the process of transitioning from mid-scale turbines to large, high-efficiency machines. By expanding the testing capability from 6 MW to 13.5 MW, Flender aims to support the development of next-generation large turbines.

The newly commissioned test rig is designed to simulate extreme mechanical loads and operating conditions.
