Eni , through its subsidiary Eni Rovuma Basin, has launched an EPC tender for a 75 MW gas-fired power plant in Temane, in Inhambane province in Mozambique. The project is valued at €110 million.
The proposed facility will use gas engines to generate electricity. Eni will finance the project as part of its broader commitments to Mozambique’s energy sector. The plant will be located in the same province as the separate 450 MW Temane Thermal Power Plant.
Once operational, the new facility will supply Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM), Mozambique’s state-owned electricity utility.
Eni said that applications for the tender have to be submitted by 31 October, 2026.
