Enel has announced that two power generation companies that it holds in Peru will be merged. This will create a larger entity valued at $2.31 billion. The companies being merged are Enel Green Power Peru , along with its two subsidiaries Marcona and Los Pinos, along with Enel Generacion Peru , which operates gas-fired combined cycle plants and run-of-river hydropower plants.
The shareholders of Enel Generacion Peru will be the majority owners of the resulting entity, holding 70 per cent of the shares. The merger is subject to shareholders’ approval and other consents.
Enel Green Power Peru operates the 132 MW Wayra I wind farm and the 179 MW Rubi solar farm, and it is building the 177 MW Wayra extension and the 123 MW Clemesi solar farm.
