Doosan to invest $90 million in wind power generation by 2030

Chung Yeon-in, President of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction , has announced that the company will invest 100 billion won ($90 million) in wind power projects by 2030. Chung revealed the plan during an investment agreement signing ceremony held on 5 February for the construction of the world’s largest offshore wind power complex in waters off Sinan County, South Jeolla Province, South Korea. The project will cost a total of $43 billion. The project involves building a 8.2 GW offshore wind farm.

Under the investment agreement, the private sector will invest about $43 billion, and the government about $800 million. Private investment will be made by offshore wind power equipment manufacturers such as Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, CS Wind, and Samkang M&T, and private power generators such as KEPCO, SK E&S, and Hanwha Engineering & Construction.
