This statement came after Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Karamarko and US energy envoy Amos Hochstein met, following the latter’s interest in the project. The future of a land-based terminal, on the island of Krk, is still unclear after the government received seven non-binding bids from industrial and financial investors.
President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic said that the Krk facility was still Croatia’s key energy project but the floating LNG facility is still an option.
