While attending the Boao Forum for Asia 2014 this week, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met with the consortium which praised his support for foreign investors.

The consortium and Sharif both agreed on the investment in the plants, with the Prime Minister welcoming the timing of the power projects as they will help bolster growth in the Pakistani economy.

Sharif also took the opportunity to highlight the further opportunities available to foreign investors in Pakistan’s energy and infrastructure sector.

Speaking to media sources after the meeting, Sharif stated that construction on the plants would begin as soon as next month, and aim to be completed by 2016.
