Casa dos Ventos receives authorisation to operate wind and solar farms in northeast Brazil

Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency ( Aneel ) has authorised Casa dos Ventos to operate new wind and solar farms in the northeast region of Brazil.

These include the 50 MW Santa Larissa 4 solar farm in Bahia, and the 4.5 MW São Rafael 6 wind farm and the 4.5 MW São Rafael 6 wind farm in Rio Grande do Norte.

Aneel has also authorised the commercial operation of the 9.8 MW Mauriti solar power plant, owned by PowerChina, located in the municipality of Miracles in Ceara.

The northeast is the largest renewable energy hub in Brazil. The region has approximately 90 per cent of Brazil’s installed wind capacity and is growing rapidly in solar power generation.
