Capalo AI, a sustainable technology company specialising in optimization and trading of renewable and hybrid energy assets, has entered into a partnership with European Energy, a leading international developer of renewable energy projects. The partnership covers two hybrid solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) assets in the Baltic region.

The first asset is the Anyksiai hybrid park in Lithuania, comprising a 25 MW / 65 MWh BESS co-located with a 78.5 MW solar park. Capalo AI has commenced optimization and trading services for this asset, with commissioning and market prequalification finalized in August 2026. The second asset is the Saldus Hybrid Park in Latvia, comprising a 46 MW / 105 MWh BESS paired with a 65.7 MWp solar park. Currently under construction, the Saldus park is expected to be one of the biggest hybrid parks of its kind in Latvia and the Baltics upon completion.

Across both assets, Capalo AI provides route-to-market services including Day-Ahead, Intraday, and balancing market trading, Balance Responsible Party (BRP) services, and coordinated dispatch of solar and BESS as a single flexible unit. Capalo AI’s trading and optimization approach maximizes the revenue of each asset, helping to manage curtailment and explore the asset’s bankability. It also helps minimize BESS degradation throughout its operational life.

As Capalo AI delivers results across the Anyksiai and Saldus parks, both parties see clear potential to extend their work together across European Energy’s broader portfolio.

"We're proud to partner with European Energy, one of the most ambitious drivers of the green transition globally, with a development portfolio of over 30 GW across Europe. Their Anykščiai and Saldus hybrid parks will be major providers of clean energy and flexibility in the Baltics. We look forward to realizing these assets' full potential across all balancing and wholesale markets with our AI-driven trading and optimization.” said Henri Taskinen, CEO of Capalo AI.

“Battery storage and hybridisation of energy parks is becoming an increasingly important part of European Energy’s renewable energy portfolio. The Baltic countries are particularly interesting markets for this development, and the partnership with Capalo AI gives us access to the optimisation and trading capabilities needed to operate these assets more efficiently across several electricity markets,” said Jens-Peter Zink, Deputy CEO of European Energy.
