Andritz has won a significant contract in Serbia to upgrade a series of historic hydropower plants.

The contract was awarded by Energotechnika Južna Bačka and involves the modernisation of the Vlasinske hydropower plants, which have been operational since 1955. The modernisation initiative is financially supported by loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Andritz will supply 4 Pelton and 6 Francis turbines to increase the total capacity by 8 MW, from 130 MW to 138 MW. The upgrade will also increase the efficiency of the facilities.
