Andhra Pradesh completes land acquisition for 228 solar plants

Shri K Vijayanand, Chief Secretary for the Andhra Pradesh government in India, has said that the state is taking up 1162.8 MW through 228 solar power plants under Component C of the PM-KUSUM scheme.

Andhra Pradesh aims to commission 109.7 MW in September and October 2026 to boost renewable power generation and improve electricity supply to agricultural feeders.

Vijayanand said land acquisition had been completed for all 228 plants. He said officials will monitor civil works, equipment procurement, financial closure, and statutory documentation for the projects. He said that the projects will be expedited, executed and commissioned promptly.

APCPDCL (Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution) is implementing 49 plants, totalling 191.5 MW with land acquisition completed for all projects.

APEPDCL (Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution) is implementing 33 plants totalling 220.3 MW, with land acquired for all and purchase orders issued for 29 of the plants.

APSPDCL (Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution) and KRECS (Kuppam Rural Electric Co-Operative Society) account for 146 plants totalling 751 MW. Land acquisition and purchase orders have been completed for all of them, while civil works are in progress. About 19.9 MW is scheduled for operation in September.
