ACWA to develop 1.5 GW wind power project in Uzbekistan

ACWA Power has signed an agreement with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy to develop a 1.5 GW wind project in the Karakalpakstan region. The project will require an investment of $2.4 billion. It is expected to achieve financial closure by the end of 2023 and is scheduled to start commercial operation by Q1 2026. It will be Uzbekistan’s largest single-sire onshore wind power plant.
