Vidrala to install solar installation at Spanish glass manufacturing facility

Vidrala will construct a 12 MW solar PV power generation facility at its Crisnova glass manufacturing site in Caudete, Castilla La Mancha, Spain. Vidrala has carried out the engineering, technical, and economic viability work, urban planning, administrative and environmental procedures, as well as the engineering project under the advisory services of Norvento Enerxía.

Construction works have started. Norvento is acting as project manager and Grupotec is responsible for installation and commissioning of the project. Vidrala said that the project is part of its sustainability and energy efficiency strategy and a “demonstration of its commitment to the environment and to the communities where it operates”.

Vidrala Group implemented similar technology at its logistics facility in Marinha Grande, Portugal in 2018.
