The Idaho National Laboratory is expected to be the first site of installation with the Carbon-Free Power Project scheduled to generate power using six 50 MW modules and distribute it for 40 years. These modules are due to be online by 2030.

The modules of NuScale’s SMR generate 50 MW, and each module is no larger than 20 m tall and 2.7 m in diameter. A power plant could have up to 12 modules, for a total power capacity of 600 MW.
