United Technologies Corporation has announced that it intends to sell its power generation assets for about $1 billion. No potential buyer has yet been identified.

Pratt & Whitney Power Systems, a United Tech subsidiary, makes industrial gas turbines and geothermal power systems.

It has been reported that United Technologies, based in Connecticut, USA, is seeking to raise about $1 billion to help pay for its purchase of the aerospace parts manufacturer Goodrich Corporation.
