Ukraine is in discussions with Türkiye to lease power plants ships for deployment at strategic locations on the Odesa and the Danube regions.

Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa regional administration, announced the initiative. He said: “Türkiye possesses power plant vessels, each capable of producing 250 MW. We are evaluating the possibility of bringing in three units, to be stationed in Izmail, Odesa, and the Pivdenniy port. This would enable us to deliver power to the city along with some surrounding districts.”

He added that current talks were primarily centred on aspects of security.
