The tender for the privatisation of 52 hydropower plants owned by the Turkish state-run Electricity Generation Holding Company (EUAS) is scheduled for April.
Interviews with companies bidding in the tender will start before the end of March and last for four weeks. Sources said that the final bargaining for the tender will be held following the end of the interviews, probably in the second week of April.
The tender has seen high interest from both domestic and foreign investors, and has received a total of 615 bids. The plants to be offered in the tender have been divided into 19 groups. According to a written statement released by the Privatisation Administration, some of the groups receiving a high number of bids are as follows: The first group, comprising the İznik-Dereköy, İnegöl-Cerrah and M. Kemalpaşa-Suuçtu plants received a total of 22 bids; the second group, Harakli-Hendek, Pazarköy-Akyazi and Bozüyük, received nine bids; the Kayaköy plant received a total of 88 bids, and Kovada 1 and Kovada 2 together received 15 bids.
