Toshiba and Bechtel have announced they will collaborate on delivery of equipment for Poland’s first nuclear power plant.
Bechtel is working with Westinghouse Electric Company to develop multiple Westinghouse AP1000 PWRs in Poland. Bechtel has agreed with Toshiba to collaborate on the supply of steam generators and generators for the project. In the future, the three companies will conduct concrete studies on the supply of equipment.
Poland is currently highly dependent on coal-fired power generation. Due to increasing environmental awareness, plans to build new nuclear power plants are underway.
Shinya Fujitsuka, Director and Senior Vice President at Toshiba, said: “Toshiba is highly honoured to announce the collaboration with Bechtel on the delivery of equipment for Poland’s first nuclear power plant. We contribute to energy sustainability, security, and protection of the global environment with our nuclear business.”
