Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco), owner of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station, has said that it is seeking partners to help re-establish itself in the nuclear power business. The Japan Times reported that the partnership would focus on building two light-water reactors at the Higashidori nuclear power station in the Aomori Prefecture.
Higashidori is the site of one reactor, owned by the Tohuku Electric Power Company.
Tepco, while facing massive expenses on the clean-up and decommissioning of Fukushoma Daiichi, is hoping to increase revenues through partnerships in both electricity generation and power grid operations.
