At present Tata, India’s largest private power producer, currently has an installed generation capacity of about 8560 MW, but as projects around the world reach completion this figure will top 9 GW.

Of current generation, 7647 MW comes from thermal power generation and 912 MW from renewable energy sources.

Among the projects currently under construction are two wind energy plants in South Africa, the 94.8 MW Tsitsikamma and 134.4 MW Amakhala Emoyeni projects, which are expected to be commissioned in Tata’s 2017 fiscal year, according to company statements.

Both South African projects are being developed by Cennergi, which is a 50:50 joint venture between Tata Power and Exxaro Resources.
