Alparslan Bayraktar, Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, said that the country had broken records for solar and wind power generation in April.
Solar power output rose to 2.4 TWh in April, a 10 per cent share of total electricity generation. Bayraktar also said that April was a record month for wind power output. He said: “Wind energy generation reached an all-time high of 3.2 TWh in April.” He added that the total electricity generation from all renewable energy sources reached an all-time high of 15.5 TWh in April.
Bayraktar said that Türkiye aimed to increase its installed capacity by 80 GW by 2035, of which 60 GW would be from renewable sources.
